MORE UPDATES ON THE LIVERY STUDIO.

In February and March of 2022, the Livery Studio has gotten a few more important things accomplished. The Wizards carefully cleaned and power washed the interior walls and the 100-year-old brick floor. Lake Country Glass and Mirror manufactured and installed all of the pedestrian glass doors.   Print and Sign Solutions helped with the design and installation of the new metal sign with our name/logo for the exterior of the building.  They also did the vinyl sticker signage on all of the glass doors.   Mid-March we had two new heaters installed with the help of ACS Heating and Air Conditioning Services.
Renovation on the Livery Studio space is soooo close to being completed. The Studio will initially be used for pop-up exhibits/events, followed by artists renting studio space to create their works, establishing a new space for creativity to grow and flourish right here in downtown Eatonton.

THE STUDIO JUST GOT A NEW MURAL!

Downtown Eatonton just got a little brighter!!  Has anyone spotted our new colorful mural on the Livery Studio building?  The Artisans Village logo along with the words, “Livery Studio”, was painted on the side of the building facing E. Marion Street in early September.

The artist that painted the mural is Katie Eidson, she is the team leader for UGA’s program, Color the World Bright. The program is headed up by Professor Joseph Norman.

THE ARTISANS VILLAGE STUDIO – RENOVATION STORY:

The Artisans Village acquired two warehouses back in 2016. They are wonderful, old turn-of-the-century buildings in downtown Eatonton. One was originally a livery and the other a cotton warehouse. After many months of renovation, the first project is almost complete.   In the next few months, The Artisans Village plans to open up studio space to artists and hopefully feature live demonstrations in the old Livery building.  The studio was intended to be the creative home to artisans who work in the hot arts and high-noise arts, which include metalworkers, glass blowers, pottery, chainsaw carvers, and, just as it did more than a hundred years ago – blacksmiths.

If you are an artist interested in renting workshop space at the Livery Studios, please contact The Artisans Village.  You can call (706)623-7757, stop in the Gallery,  or submit our online contact form.
