Thank you to everyone that joined us for the Open House at the Livery Studio.  What made such a special and unique event would not have been possible without the Lifers Car Club.

The idea for this Open House came about a few months ago when a few members from the Lifers Car Club asked if they could host their club at the Livery Studio for a Hot Rods & Pinups photoshoot.

“They had an immediate appreciation for the space and the vibe down there which everyone seems to have…one idea led to another, and it just so happened that we scheduled this event on the same day as The Artisans Village Guild’s Annual Paint Out on April 30,” said The Artisans Village Board President, Kevin Tomson-Hooper. Their artwork is on display and for sale at The Artisans Village Art Gallery located in downtown Eatonton on the square.

Over 30 antique Hot Rods were lined up outside the livery and around the parking lot. The Lifers Car Club invited Chad Shivers and the Fridgidaires to perform live Surf Guitar music on the city stage. The Artisans Village set up tables and chairs inside the livery and Kersey Catering offered Pulled Pork BBQ Nachos, Buffalo Chicken Wraps, Bacon Potato Salad, and more to feed the hungry crowd.

We were happy to partner with The Lifers Car Club to bring a unique event downtown and showcase the Livery Studio.  If you are an artist looking to rent space for hot, loud, messy artwork or just looking for a  space to host a unique event or exhibit – please contact us!

There’s a special Open House event on

Saturday, April 30 at The Livery Studios and you’re invited! Come see the newly renovated space!  Join us between noon and 5 pm for antique cars, live music, food, and artist painting around downtown for the Eatonton One Day Paint Out!  The Artisans Village Art Gallery and Gifts will also be open.  Stop in and see all the beautiful new artwork and gift items!

After many months and years of planning, we’re ready to open the doors and welcome the public to see the renovated Livery Studio space. Join us for an afternoon of fun in downtown Eatonton. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy some live music on the city stage and food (for purchase) from Kersey Catering.  The menu will include Pulled Pork BBQ Nachos, Grilled Honey Hot Wings, and Grilled Hamburgers with Pimento Cheese.

The Lifer’s Car Club presents Hot Rods & PinUps. Antique Hot Rod cars will be on display in and around the Livery Studio for a special photoshoot with Pin-Up models. *Cars for this are by INVITE ONLY, please. Enjoy live Surf Guitar music by Chad Shivers and the Frigidaires.

But WAIT, there’s more! The Annual Eatonton One Day Paint Out – Artists will be plein air painting (painting outside) all around downtown Eatonton from 1:00 – 5:00 pm. We’ll have an interactive Google map showing you suggested locations where artists may be painting so you can stop by and watch them create!

History of The Livery Studio Building and Renovations

This wonderful, old turn-of-the-century building in downtown Eatonton was originally a livery stable for horses. After many, many months of renovation, The Livery Studio will initially be used for pop-up art exhibits and special events.  The Artisans Village plans to open up studio space to artists and hopefully feature live demonstrations.  The studio was intended to be the creative home to artisans who work in the hot arts and high-noise arts, which include metalworkers, glass blowers, pottery, chainsaw carvers, and, just as it did more than a hundred years ago – blacksmiths.  The Artisans Village is thrilled to be able to establish this new space for creativity to grow and flourish right here in downtown Eatonton.
