The Annual Eatonton One Day Paint Out was held on Saturday, April 30, 2022.

The day consists of two main events: Workshops and a Paint Out. REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED.

1. Workshops: BOTH OF OUR WORKSHOPS ARE FULL. From 9:00 am – 12:00 pm we are pleased to offer two Plein Air Workshops ($45) taught by award-winning Plein Air painters and instructors Ed Cahill (oil/acrylic) and Brenda Pinnick (oil/acrylic). See more information about the instructors below.

2. Paint Out:  Artists must be 18 years of age or older.  Registration for the Paint Out is $20. Please be sure to read the full rules and regulations.  Artists must begin painting at or after 1:00 p.m. the day of the event and submit the painting to event organizers by 5:00 p.m.  Artists should paint outdoors within one mile of the registration location at The Artisans Village Art Gallery, 110 W. Marion St, Eatonton, GA. 31024.

For suggestions on where to paint for the Eatonton One Day Paint Out view our NEW Interactive Google Map. Click on the purple markers for the exact address, short description, and photos of the location. We will continue to add more Historic Homes and Gardens as we get permission and details from the homeowners. We’ve added a few public spaces to this map as well, but there are many more beautiful public areas you are welcome to paint. If you’d like to suggest a spot or home for this list for 2023, or if you have any questions about the map, feel free to complete the form on our website. *We did get permission from the private homes on this list. Please be respectful and leave no trace anywhere you decide to paint.

There are cash prizes! (1st:  $150; 2nd: $100; 3rd:  $75.). Judging will be done by the workshop instructors. The event will be held rain or shine, so come prepared.  We highly recommend you register in advance for the Paint Out so we can provide recommended locations to paint and suggestions for inclement weather locations as well. However, we do accept walk-ups on the day of the event.

PLEIN AIR WORKSHOPS – 9:00 AM – 12:00PM

WORKSHOPS ARE NOW FULL! Award-winning Plein Air artists and teachers Ed Cahill and Brenda Pinnick will each lead a workshop in oil/acrylic in downtown Eatonton.  Both artists have painted Plein Air extensively and also have taught many Plein Air workshops.  Topics will include how to compose on-site and how to get the most out of your materials.  Material lists will be provided in advance.  We will have indoor accommodations in the event of inclement weather.
