You may complete the online registration form below, or print and complete the form (click for Rules and Regulations).  Please send the completed form along with the payment per the instructions on the form.

  1. Workshops: From 9:00 am – 12:00 pm we are pleased to offer Plein Air Workshops ($45) taught by award-winning Plein Air painters and instructors. Each workshop only has room for 10 participants, so be sure to register early!  See more information about the instructors below.
  2. Plein Air Painting Contest:  Artists must be 18 years of age or older.  Registration for the Paint Out is $15. Please be sure to read the full rules and regulations.  Artists must begin painting at or after 1:00 p.m. the day of the event and submit the painting to event organizers by 5:00 p.m. No work can be done after 5:00 p.m.  Artists should paint outdoors within one mile of the registration location (110 W. Marion St, Eatonton, GA).  The event will be held rain or shine, so come prepared.  We highly recommend you register in advance for the Paint Out so we can provide recommended locations to paint and suggestions for inclement weather locations as well. However, we do accept walk-ups on the day of the event.

Plein Air Workshops – 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Please join us for hands-on Plein Air workshops on Saturday, May 1, 2021, from 9:00 to 12:00, just prior to the Eatonton One Day Paint Out.  Award-winning Plein Air artists and teachers, Dawn Kinney Martin and Amanda Lovett will each lead a workshop in oil/acrylic in downtown Eatonton.  Both artists have painted Plein Air extensively and also have taught many Plein Air workshops.  Topics will include how to compose on-site and how to get the most out of your materials.  Material lists will be provided in advance.  We will have indoor accommodations in the event of inclement weather.

Advance registration is required and must be received by April 23, 2021. Registration may be made online using the form below or by printing and sending the completed application to  Treasurer, 123 Smith Court, Eatonton, GA along with a check for $45 made payable to TAVG.

Dawn is the recipient of awards in multiple shows in the state and around the country.  She was accepted to the Artists in Residence Program in Elizabeth City, NC, where she worked with the local arts center to create free or low-cost Plein workshops for the community. Enjoy her work at Dawn Kinney Martin. “I find that painting on location has helped me focus on what’s really important to me about the scene and take more risks both on location and in the studio.”

Amanda - One Day Paint Out - JudgeAmanda Lovett:   Amanda was the winner of the 2019 Olmsted Georgia Color Plein Air Event and was an invited Olmsted Plein Air painter in 2020 and will be again in 2021.    In 2020, she was named one of the “11 Artist to Collect Now: The Emerging Plein Air Painters You Need to Know” in the October/November issue of Plein Air Magazine.  Amanda has won awards in multiple shows in the state and around the country.  She is a signature member of Oil Painters of America and American Women Artists and an associate member of the American Impressionist Society.  She teaches workshops around the state.  Enjoy her work at Amanda Lovett Fine Art.  “I grew up in a family of storytellers; people who could take a moment in time and make it come to life using words. … I too tell stories, only I use paint, light, and shape to bring them to life. It’s about being in the moment, breaking down what I see, and giving my brush a chance to speak.”
