Our Artisans Village Guild members have been given the opportunity to participate in a very exciting and prestigious event coming to the Art Community in our area. As a part of the Georgia Department of Economic Development, the Georgia Council for the Arts (GCA) has curated a traveling exhibition of works from Georgia’s State Art Collection. This unique exhibition will showcase works from the community’s local and regional artists alongside 20 featured works from the State Collection.
The exhibit is entitled – REIMAGINE: Contemporary Georgia Artists. It will be held beginning April 20, through May 29, 2025, at the Steffen Thomas Museum of Art in Buckhead (Morgan County) GA.
The Steffen Thomas Museum of Art has been selected as one of the 10 host locations across the state of Georgia to showcase these works.
The Artisans Village Guild, Madison Artists Guild and Gallery and Southern Heartland Art Gallery will be the three organizations that have been invited to submit works of art for this exhibit.
A few things to know:
- You must have renewed your Guild membership for 2026 or have joined the Guild for the first time July 1, 2025, or later in 2025. (Entry is limited to artists who are Georgia residents.)
- All mediums of art are eligible – It must be your original artwork – no AI produced work. It should have been completed within the last five (5) years
- Thirty pieces of art will be juried in by The Artisans Village Jurors. Those pieces will be submitted to STMA to be juried as one of the 12-15 pieces selected from each Guild for the exhibition.
- You may submit only one piece of artwork. If you are a member of more than one of the participating Guilds, please submit your piece to only one of the Guilds.
- There are no size restrictions, however pieces must be wired and ready to hang and properly framed or displayed. 3D work must be able to stand alone or come with the necessary support.
- No artwork that requires installation may be submitted. This is because of the STMA gallery constraints.
- Artists will deliver their selected piece to STMA by appointment, or an agreed upon time. Condition reports, photos, sales agreement, label information, tax form will all be completed at this time. The artist must deliver the work in person.
- Your artwork may be marked for sale or may be marked NFS. If your work is sold the commission is as follows: 65% – Artist/25% – STMA/10% – Guild/Gallery
- The exhibition will not be a judged event and no awards will be given. Each participating artist will receive a certificate that reflects their selection into this very special event.
We are honored to have our Guild invited to participate in this event and are encouraging all our current Guild members to submit your work to be considered for acceptance into this show.
The Prospectus and Application for entry will be available on our website on January 5, 2026. Applications will close at midnight on January 25, 2026.
