2022 Collaboration Project – The Process
The Artisans Village Guild is excited to share the news about our 2022 Collaboration Project.
We have chosen three photos that evoke Lake Country. One is a fall scene of the lake with a gorgeous tree on the left and a stunning sky in the right distance. The other is a view of two adorable calves at fellow member Alex Pearson’s cattle farm outside Eatonton. The third photo is of a perfect sunset made even more spectacular with the reflection on the lake.
Each photo was enlarged to 30″ x 40″ and cut into 12 – 10″ x 10″ pieces. Each participating artist is given a 10″x10″ panel and one piece of one of the photos, as well as a copy of the complete photo for context.
Artists have until February 25 to return the completed panel. A range of mediums can be used to recreate the piece of the photo: paint (oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, etc), pastel, mosaics, glass, beads, textiles, etc. Weight has to be a consideration, however.
We will put the panels back together into three 30″x40″ collaborations and reveal them at the reception on March 24 at the Gallery where the collaborations will be for sale.
The Guild did this collaboration project several years ago and the participants still talk about how much fun it was. Save the date for the 2022 Collaboration Project Opening Reception!

Photos were taken at the January Guild meeting where each was assigned a “piece of the puzzle” that they will recreate in any medium of their choice before the end of February. We can’t wait to see what the puzzle looks like with all the pieces created by some of our favorite local artists!
