The BIG little Project is back! Sign up will begin at our December meeting. This year, we are limiting sales of panels to 50, so get one soon!

What is the BIG little Project?

For $5, Guild Members will be given a 6×6 inch, 1 5/8 inch deep DaVinci Pro Medium Textured, gessoed, cradled panel to create art in any medium they want (as long as it fits on the 6×6 panel, can be hung vertically and can sit on one edge). While we ask that the piece be within community standards, the piece can be any subject of their choice. (Sides of the cradled panel will be painted by the artist. No framing.) The panels will be displayed together in the Gallery and sold through a fun ticketing process at a reception on March 26, 2026, to be held at Barrel 118, located at 118 N. Jefferson Avenue, Eatonton, GA. The tickets will go on sale March 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Anyone can purchase a ticket! Proceeds of the sale of the panels will go to support The Artisans Village Guild’s shows and activities. The Artisans Village is a non-profit.

How do I get a panel?

You must be a current Guild member to create art.  Panels can be purchased for cash at the December 12, 2025, monthly Guild meeting, the January 9, 2026, monthly Guild meeting, as well as at The Artisans Village Art Gallery (110 W. Marion Street, Eatonton, GA) during Gallery hours (W-F 11-5 or Saturday 10-3) from December 17-February 7 or by contacting Linda Foster at lbfoster@outlook.com. To pay 2026 dues, you can bring a check to the December or January Guild meetings, mail a check to our treasurer, Michele Hartung (123 Smith Court, Eatonton, GA 31024) or pay online CLICK HERE. If you joined for the first time after July 1, 2025, your dues were good for the rest of 2025 and 2026.

What is the deadline to return the panel?

The panels must be returned by the February 13, 2026, Guild meeting or, in any event, to the Gallery during Gallery hours (W-F 11-5 or Saturday 10-3) no later than February 13, 2026.

The BIG little Project 2026 Information and Rules

Thank you so much for participating in our BIG little Project.  Not only will we have fun creating art together as a Guild, we also will raise much needed funds for the Village, the Gallery and the Guild.  Below are some frequently asked questions.

Remember, you must be a 2026 paid Guild member to participate. So, if you have not paid your dues you can either bring a check to the December or January Guild meetings, mail a check to our treasurer, Michele Hartung (123 Smith Court, Eatonton, GA 31024) or pay online.  If you joined for the first time after July 1, 2025, your dues were good for the rest of 2025 and 2026.   Thanks for being a member and sharing Guild fun with us!

What can I create?

You can put anything in any color on your panel with these few restrictions:

  1. The panel must be able to sit on one of its sides in case the purchaser wants to put it on a shelf instead of hang it.
  2. The panel must also be able to hang on the wall. The sawtooth hanger will be installed on your panel when you receive it.
  3. Your creation must be within community standards (i.e. nothing obscene) and
  4. You must use the panel you purchased from the Guild.

So, use your imagination!  Want to weave through the panel, cut some holes.  Want to create something 3-D?  Have at it, as long as it will hang on the wall and sit on one side.  Want to do watercolor or pastel?  Feel free to paste the paper of your choice to the panel.  Remember that eventually, all the panels will be hung side by side to display for purchasers.

What do I do with the sides?  Plan to paint the sides black.  If you want to continue your creation around the sides just remember:  (1) the sides are not gessoed and (2) there must be at least one flat side that will permit the piece to sit on a shelf.

Can I sign the piece?  Yes, please do.  Please also write your name on the back, along with the words “The Artisans Village Guild 2026 BIG little Project.”  If you want to name your piece you can do that also and write that on the back, too.

Do I have to wire the panel for hanging?  No, the panel will come to you with a sawtooth hanger.

When must the panel be completed?

The absolute deadline to have your piece in the Project is February 13.   We would love to have them whenever you finish them so we can use the growing collection to promote the Project.  You can bring completed panels to the January 9 Guild meeting, the February 13 Guild meeting, or drop them at The Artisans Village Art Gallery, 110 W. Marion Street Eatonton, GA, during Gallery hours (W-F 11-5 and Saturday 10-3) no later than February 13.

How will the panels be sold?

Beginning March 2, we will begin selling tickets online for $50 each.  The tickets will entitle the purchaser to pick a panel at the Reception on March 26 at Barrel 118, 118 N. Jefferson Avenue, Eatonton, GA.  To shake things up this year, your ticket will entitle you to either go to the Gallery or call the Gallery to have a number drawn.  That number will dictate the order in which you choose your panel.  The last purchased ticket might end up being the first chooser!   All funds raised will be used to support the operation of the Village, the Guild and the Gallery.

Enjoy creating!
