BIG PROJECT. BIG FUN. BIG CREATIVITY.
unique little 6″x6″ art with a little price tag.
What is the BIG little Project?
Now in its THIRD YEAR! The BIG little project is back! We have asked our Guild Members to create a new, small work of art on a 6″ x 6″ panel. Some of the best artists in Lake Country and beyond are participating. This is your chance to help support our local art organization and a fun way to add some special art to your decor for just $50. All proceeds will benefit The Artisans Village, Guild, and Gallery. Read on to learn more about the selection process for The BIG little Project!

The BIG little Project 2025 Details and Rules
Thank you so much for participating in our BIG little Project. Not only will we have fun creating art together as a Guild, we also will raise much needed funds for the Village, the Gallery and the Guild. Below are some frequently asked questions.
Remember, you must be a 2025 paid Guild member to participate. So, if you have not paid your dues you can either bring a check to the December or January Guild meetings, mail a check to our treasurer, Michele Hartung (123 Smith Court, Eatonton, GA 31024) or pay online: JOIN THE GUILD! If you joined for the first time after July 1, 2024, your dues were good for the rest of 2024 and 2025. Thanks for being a member and sharing Guild fun with us!
What can I create?
You can put anything in any color on your panel with these few restrictions:
- The panel must be able to sit on one of its sides in case the purchaser wants to put it on a shelf instead of hang it.
- The panel must also be able to hang on the wall. The sawtooth hanger will be installed on your panel when you receive it.
- Your creation must be within community standards (i.e. nothing obscene)
- You must use the panel you purchased from the Guild.
So, use your imagination! Want to weave through the panel, cut some holes. Want to create something 3-D? Have at it, as long as it will hang on the wall and sit on one side. Want to do watercolor or pastel? Feel free to paste the paper of your choice to the panel. Remember that eventually, all the panels will be hung side by side to display for purchasers.
What do I do with the sides?
Plan to paint the sides black. If you want to continue your creation around the sides just remember: (1) the sides are not gessoed and (2) there must be at least one flat side that will permit the piece to sit on a shelf.
Can I sign the piece?
Yes, please do. Please also write your name on the back, along with the words “The Artisans Village Guild 2025 BIG little Project.” If you want to name your piece you can do that also and write that on the back, too.
Do I have to wire the panel for hanging?
No, the panel will come to you with a sawtooth hanger.
When must the panel be completed?
The absolute deadline to have your piece in the Project is March 14. We would love to have them whenever you finish them so we can use the growing collection to promote the Project. You can bring completed panels to the January 10 Guild meeting, the February 14 Guild meeting, the March 14 Guild meeting or drop them at The Artisans Village Art Gallery, 110 W. Marion Street Eatonton, GA, during Gallery hours (W-F 11-5 and Saturday 10-3) no later than March 14.
How will the panels be sold?
Beginning March 17, we will begin selling tickets online for $50 each. The tickets will entitle the purchaser to pick a panel at the Reception on April 3 at Barrel 118, 118 N. Jefferson Avenue, Eatonton, GA, in the order in which the tickets were sold. Mark your calendars! All funds raised will be used to support the operation of the Village, the Guild and the Gallery.
