Monthly Plein Air for Guild Members

Below are some photos from our past plein air outings.

July 2021

On July 27, the fourth Tuesday of the month, several Guild members ventured to downtown Greensboro for more plein air painting.  We have one beautiful watercolor to share.  This is a familiar scene from a downtown street corner painted by the talented artist, Steve Kippels.

Hope to see many of you for our next outing on the fourth Tuesday of August (Aug 24). Remember, it is free, and no need to sign up. Watch for the emails announcing the location.

MAY 2021

The fourth Tuesday of May saw several Guild members plein air painting at fellow Guild member Ellie Cowan’s bed and breakfast in Madison, The Firefly. What a charming spot! Lots of cool cottage architecture and garden vignettes. We were so taken by the scenes in the front yard, none of us ended up painting in the backyard where the beautiful barn and waterfall were! We will definitely go back. Ellie even served us a snack! The Firefly has 5 rooms for rent, breakfast included, and would be a lovely get away! Hope to see you on the fourth Tuesday of June (June 22) for our next outing. Remember, it is free, and no need to sign up. Watch for the emails announcing the location.

APRIL 2021

On the fourth Tuesday of every month between March and October, the Guild hosts a free plein air outing. No need to sign up. This past Tuesday we painted in the bucolic beauty of Carhan Farm, owned by fellow Guild Member Alex Pearson. Rolling pastures, scenic pond, pecan groves, baby cows, and beautiful weather combined to make a magical day of painting. We plan to return for our October outing on October 26. Thanks, Alex!

Join us next month on May 25 when we paint at The Firefly Bed and Breakfast in Madison, courtesy of owner and fellow Guild member, Ellie Cowan.
