REIMAGINE: Contemporary Georgia Artists

The Guild is honored to be included in the Georgia Council of the Arts 2025-2026 Traveling Exhibition: “REIMAGINE,” featuring 20 works of art from the Georgia State Art Collection. Three area Guilds have been invited to submit works of art to be juried into the event that will be held at the Steffen Thomas Museum in Buckhead (Morgan County, Ga), April 20-May 29, 2026. Our Guild is one of those three Guilds, and our member artists may submit artwork – all mediums are encouraged – that will be juried by an independent juror through the Steffen Thomas Museum. The pieces chosen will hang at STMA through May 29, 2026.

An email was sent to all current Guild members on 11/23/25 with information about submitting your work. The application and prospectus are now available on our website. Applications close at midnight on Jan. 25, 2026.

2026 Spring Workshop

Brenda Pinnick, a very accomplished and award-winning artist, will be teaching a three-day workshop focusing primarily on landscapes. Brenda will be painting in oil, but acrylic painters are welcome. The workshop will be held March 23-25, 2026, and the cost per person $225.00. Sign up at any of our Guild meetings or email Linda Foster: lbfoster@outlook.com

2026 MONTHLY GUILD MEETINGS:

Monthly Guild Meetings take place the second Friday of each month (usually) at The Peoples Bank – Lake Oconee Branch at 10:00 AM.  Non-Members are welcome to attend to get a feel for the group. The meetings include a social time starting at 9:30 a.m. and again after the meeting to meet new art friends.

2026 Guild Board Members: 

During our January meeting, we will vote on the slate of nominees for our 2026 Guild Board Officers as presented at our December meeting.
Our nominees for 2026 Guild Board Officers are:
President – Nancy Bolen, Vice-president – Chris Sims, Treasurer – Michele Hartung, Secretary – Susan Edwards, Publicity – Robin Cassidy, Member at Large – Karin Gould.

Eatonton One Day Paint Out & Plein Air Workshops

10th Annual Eatonton One Day Paint out – Saturday, April 18, 2026

10th Annual Lake Country Juried Arts Show

We are always honored to showcase the amazing range of talent from our Lake Country artists.  Application and Prospectus for the 2026 Lake Country Juried Art Show is coming soon.  Deadline to submit applications is May 12, 2026.  Save the date for the opening weekend at Barrel 118, June 25-27, 2026

Dual Vision: Art Through Different Eyes

This year marks the 10th anniversary of everyone’s favorite art show and collaboration with the Lake Country Photography Club!  Photo Selection for Guild Members will be held on Friday, May 9th at The Artisans Village’s beautiful, historic Livery Studio. September 11, 2026 will be the The Big Reveal of Photos and Artwork at Barrel 118 in downtown Eatonton and on Thursday, September 17, 2026 be sure to attend the opening reception also at Barrel 118. If you have chosen a photo(s) for participation in the show, you will have received a confirmation email with all the pertinent event dates and information. At the beginning of 2021, Guild Vice President Debbie Payne asked that members “show their stuff” by submitting artwork to be included in another virtual slideshow. Nearly thirty of our members responded and have shown some fabulous stuff!! Thank you for your participation. Because we could not have our usual December Share and Tell at our monthly Guild meeting, we encouraged our Guild members to share photos of artwork they created during the pandemic (though not limited to a pandemic theme). Twenty-eight members posted or sent photos, often several.
