2025 MONTHLY PLEIN AIR PAINTING LOCATIONS:
The Guild coordinates a location each month to get outdoors and paint. There is no need to sign up, you are outside, spread out and the outings are free. We gather at pre-announced places on the 4th Wednesday of each month. In general, we start around 9:00 a.m. depending on weather conditions. You are welcome to show up whenever you want and leave whenever you want.
Dates and locations will be announced soon!
The first monthly Plein Air outing will be on Wednesday, March 26. An email goes out about a week before with each month’s location. If you’ve never painted “en plein air”, now is your chance to give it a try!

2024 Summer Field Trips with the Guild:
Every Summer the Guild plans a couple of ”field trips” to different art galleries. On Wednesday, July 10th the group went to The High Museum located at The Woodruff Arts Center in Atlanta. There is sometimes an option to meet at the Greensboro Home Depot and carpool, or meet us at the museum. We usually will have lunch following the tour. Stay tuned for a sign-up sheet at one of the spring Guild meetings. Join us for a fun afternoon!
2024 August Field Trip with the Guild:
On Wednesday, August 7 the group ventured to The Booth Western Museum in Cartersville, GA.
Open since 2003 and located just north of Atlanta along I-75, the Booth is the largest museum of its kind in the Southeast and an Affiliate to the Smithsonian Institution. At 120,000 square feet, the Booth is an architectural wonder – designed to resemble a modern pueblo and constructed from Bulgarian limestone. The Booth’s permanent collection of Western art and Presidential portraits and letters allows visitors to “See America’s Story” – the land, people, struggles, dreams, and legends – in paintings, sculpture, photography and artifacts.
Guild Featured Artwork – SPRING
April 27, 2021
At the beginning of 2021, Guild Vice President Debbie Payne asked that members “show their stuff” by submitting artwork to be included in another virtual slideshow. Nearly thirty of our members responded and have shown some fabulous stuff!! Thank you for your participation. Enjoy the 2021 Spring Virtual Slideshow! If you are interested in purchasing one of these pieces stop in the Gallery and talk to Shannon or give us a call – (706)623-7757.
Guild Featured Artwork
December 15, 2020
Because we could not have our usual December Share and Tell at our monthly Guild meeting, we encouraged our Guild members to share photos of artwork they created during the pandemic (though not limited to a pandemic theme). Twenty-eight members posted or sent photos, often several.
Please enjoy this beautiful collage of amazing artwork created by our Guild members!
