Detailed Description: Join us as we learn about painting with acrylics. We will learn and practice various techniques and do a painting together. A special palette and two substrates will be supplied for the cost of the materials.
Supplies for Students to bring:
1. A table easel if you like to paint at an easel as opposed to flat on the table;
2. An assortment of brushes. They have these at Hobby Lobby—buy them on sale! I like the Masters Touch 1.5 inch Glaze Wash brush (which is similar to a flat), Masters Touch 1.0 inch Glaze Wash brush, Masters Touch ½ inch Filbert, a liner or script brush; Masters Touch 1/2 inch oval mop; number 4 flat—about ½ inch;
3. Acrylic Paint (artist series heavy body paint) Ideally, get an artists series level paint by Golden, Liquitex, Utrecht, etc…as opposed to a student grade paint (e.g. Basics) We will work with three primaries and white: ultramarine blue, cadmium red light, titanium white and cadmium yellow light.
4. 2 cups for water;
5. Paper towel;
6. Ruler;
7. Pencil and eraser;
8. Small palette knife or other device to mix paint (e.g. plastic knife, a brush you do not care about)
