THE 2024 SCULPTURE TRAIL IS COMPLETE!
The first sculpture was successfully placed on Wednesday, July 17. “Rival Readers” by artist Gregory Johnson was installed between The Georgia Writers Museum and Sylvia’s Coffee Shop. Be sure to stop and take a closer look at the playful sculpture the next time you’re in town!
The Second sculpture was installed on Wednesday, September 11. “Spirit Bear” by artist Martha Pettigrew, from Lincoln, Nebraska was placed by Farmers & Merchants bank off of West Marion Street.
The next four sculptures were installed on Thursday, October 10. Another team of volunteers helped to install “Renard” the fox near Maggie Lanes clothing store. “Gentle” can be found near the event venue, Barrel 118. “The Professor” is keeping watch over the square near the Smith Communications building. And “Summer Distractions” is outside the PEX Theater.
The final sculptures were mounted and put in place on October 16 & 17. We had a great crew of volunteers who we could not have done this task without; Will Deller, Alan Chase, Brian Danson, and Justin Strickland. Thank you!!! You can find “Catching the Wind” outside of The Artisans Village Gallery. “We Can Do It!” is outside of Taylor Flowers & Gifts. “Da Fans” is placed near the corner of People’s Bank. And “With Swift Ferocity” can be found near the Veterans Wall of Honor Park.
