2020 Dual Vision: Art Through Different Eyes

Every year The Artisans Village Guild members create art in many different mediums inspired by photographs taken by members of the Associated Photographers of Lake Oconee Photo Club ( APOP).  For three years this process has been kicked off by photographers bringing their photos to a guild meeting, the Guild members selecting up to 2 photos that inspired them, and then presenting their works alongside the photos at a big “Reveal” guild meeting. This was followed by displaying both photos and art in the Artisans Village Art Gallery accompanied by a reception which typically drew around 250 people.

This 4th year, Covid 19 made the usual process impossible. No meetings, no physical selection, no reveal, and no reception. However, the photo club members rode to the rescue and posted the photos online and the guild members used technology-assisted selection.  41 Guild members created art in various mediums based on 68 photographs taken by 11 photographers. Several Guild members said that the Dual Vision challenge had helped shake off “pandemic inertia”.

The resulting stunning photos and beautiful artwork are now on display at The Artisans Village Art Gallery, 110 W Marion St, Eatonton GA 31024, thru November 19th, 2020. Come see this wonderful exhibition and vote for The People’s Choice Awards ( voting ends October 24th)!!!
